Blood Typing

When you are required to Blood Type
* Blood type reports are required for BULLS that have semen collected for use in artificial insemination and for the PARENTS of embryo transfer progeny before progeny may be registered (Rule #6).
*Blood type reports are required for OFFSPRING born to cows that were exposed to more than one bull in a 21-day cycle. This does mean that all of the bulls that were in the pasture would need to be blood typed and proof of parentage on file before progeny may be registered (Rule #11).

How to get Started Blood Typing
*Obtain blood typing kits and required paperwork from the general offices of the society by contacting Sue Jensen, Route 1 Box 593, Charleston, AR 72933 or by calling 501-965-8115 or faxing 501-965-9014. The kits and paperwork will be sent to you . You will be billed for the shipping of the blood typing kits when you are billed for the blood type results.
*Follow the directions on the blood typing information form for collection of blood and entering of information on the form.
*Send the collected blood along with the information form to the address on the blood typing kit package.
*Sent the white copy of the information form to the society office.
*When your blood type results are received, you will be billed $31 for each result along with the cost of shipping the kits to you.
*Completed blood type reports are on file with the society office.
*You will also receive a copy of the blood typing results.
