President’s Message:
It appears to again be the time to once again say Thank you-Thank you-Thank you to all BBCS BueLingo enthusiasts!
Thank you to the Board of Directors for giving me the privilege of serving another year as President of the BueLingo Beef Cattle Society.
Thank you to Harvey Blair for his untiring efforts as Vice President during the past year. His vast storehouse of knowledge and valuable advice has been a tremendous help during the past year.
Thank you to all who helped make this year’s BueLingo Beef Cattle Society Show and Sale a success. This was the first time the show and sale was held in Kansas. This year BueLingo producers from Kansas, Washington, Colorado, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Arizona, South Dakota, and Minnesota were represented.
Thank you to those who spent long hours on the road bringing their trained show animals to the convention. The opportunity to observe animals from different farms and states helps make the convention worth while.
Thank you to Lisa and Bill for sponsoring the Meet and Greet at the Lugar-Hutton Ranch on Thursday evening. The food and drinks were outstanding, the surroundings were magnificent and the BueLingo cows, calves and bull were beautiful.
Thank you to all those who donated plaques, ribbons, prepared welcome bags, table decorations, and made signs, and to those who helped clean up the fairgrounds both before and after the activities. Your efforts were commendable and helped make the event a success.
Thank you to those who donated items to the auction and those who answered the auctioneer chant with bid after bid for the items offered. The money received from the auction helps off-set other expenses incurred during the convention. We are especially grateful for the beautiful STEVE FARM rock presented to us at the end of the auction.
Thank you to Sue Blair, our cheerful, energetic secretary for keeping the show and sale on track and making the BueLingo items available to all interested personnel. Sue’s ability to identify problems and provide workable solutions are especially noteworthy.
Congratulations are also appropriate at this time.
Congratulations to Perry Fitch, our new vice-president and of course our most qualified auctioneer. I am looking forward to working with Perry during the coming year.
Congratulations to all those who presented winning animals in the show. Special congratulations go to Harvey and Sue Blair for showing the Supreme Champion BueLingo for the eighth time in the last ten years. Results of this type signify a superb breeding program and superb BueLingo Cattle.
Additional congratulations to Danny Meyer for showing the Grand Champion Bull, Andie Friberg for showing the Grand Champion Steer, Erin Otis for showing the Champion Senior Female, and Dean and LuAnn Monson for winning the Premier Breeder Award.
Last but not least, congratulations to those who participated in the showmanship competition. Dexter Adams was top showman in the Junior Showmanship and Kim Friberg was top showman in the Senior Showmanship category. Persuading your animal to do what you want done when you want it done is a challenge at anytime, convincing your animal to cooperate in the show ring in front of a crowd of people is always a daunting task.
Well, enough said for now. We enjoyed having all convention goers in Kansas and hope you had an enjoyable time while you were here.
Keep sending in those registration forms, get your calving reports to Danny Meyer if you are still working on it, and keep on raising those BueLingo Cattle.
Sincerely,
Joe
