CHECK OUT THE CENTERFOLD! In this issue, the center pages can be taken out and used for your Convention Itinerary and Fees form. Please feel free to make copies of the forms as needed.
The Steves have put together quite an itinerary for the 2010 Convention Show and Sale in spite of their many winter challenges. Our Board of Directors meeting in Des Moines was postponed to a phone conference the 24th of February, so we could all catch up on winter chores, etc. I believe Joe has had more snow and ice this winter in Kansas than we have up here in the North “snow country”. We are looking forward to seeing new faces and meeting new members this year in Kansas. The Convention has not been down past the I-80 corridor for quite some time now. The last time was when Bud Finn and family hosted it in Missouri in 2003.
(Of course, we all have our show animals leading like kittens by now – right?)
If you are bringing the kids or the grandkids with you to the Convention, you may wish to know the hotel does have a swimming pool, and there is also a local pool within a couple blocks of the fairgrounds in Tonganoxie.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the BueLingo World. We have quite a mailing list and more people who request to be on that list. Please continue to send in pictures and articles of interest as this is our mainsource of advertising. We reach over 425 households.
The office has been staying busy with registrations and transfers. If you are putting cattle into the Midwest Breeders Sale the 13th of March, be sure and get them registered. I will have extra transfer papers with me that day for anyone selling animals.
You should have all received your 2009/2010 Directory by now. If you have any corrections or missing information, please let me know. Ballots will be sent out before the 2010 General Membership meeting for voting on Directors.
Harvey Blair and Joe Steve have been nominated for reelection to continue their 2nd term of 3 years as directors. We will also have on the ballot a vote for the change in the by-law proposal, as published in the last two “BueLingo World” magazines. The ballots will need to be returned to me either by mail or given to a Director one-half hour before the General Membership meeting commences on June 25, 2010.
Happy Spring!!!! The Calving Season is upon us.
Sincerely Belted,
Susan Blair, Secretary
